The astronomical miracle of the Holy Qu''''ran is one of the Qu’ranic miracles aspects and its subset of the scientific miracle of the Holy Quran.
Astronomical miracles of the Holy Quran are a collection of verses that explains secrets and facts about astronomical knowledge that were unknown to the people at the time of the revelation of the Qur''''an and even until centuries later and now, even after centuries of experimental knowledge, science has come to realize its validity by means of scientific tools and tests. Some of the verses of the Holy Quran that refer to topics such as the beginnings of creation, the physics and mechanics of the celestial bodies, and the end of the universe are included in this collection.
The late Ayatollah Fazel Lankrani was one of the scholars who discussed some aspects of the Qur''''anic miracle, including astronomical miracles, in a part of his valuable book» introduction of the interpretation«. After expressing the terms and conditions of the Quran''''s scientific miracle, he has used the method of scientific interpretation to interpret the astronomical miracles of the Holy Qu''''ran where examined some cases such as: the motion and shape of the earth, the multiplicity of worlds and the motion and the end of the sun''''s life .
He believes that the Holy Qur''''an refers to the movement of the earth in verse 53 of Surah Taha and verse 10 of Surah al-Zuhkrof with the word "mahd’an" and in verse 15 of Surah al-Mulk with the word "zdalul’an, and with the word "al- yukawwir’u" in verse 5 of Surah Zomar, which speaks of the complexity of night and day, as well as in Surah al-rahman, verse 17, which states the existence of two orientals and two maghribs, testifies to the globility of the earth.
The existence of numerous heavens in the Qur''''an, which is stated in the
verses with the word "sab’a-samawat" (7 heavens) in verses 29 of Surah al-baqarah and 12 of surah Fosilat and some other verses.
As well as the movements and ending of the Sun''''s life, as mentioned in verse 38 of Surah yaasin, are other examples that the late Ayatollah Fazel regarded as astronomical miracles of the Qur''''an.
