Abstract
Among the verses that are nowadays regarded as the manifestation of the scientific miracle of the Qur'an are verses related to the development of the human fetus, especially the verses 12-14 of Chapter al-Mu’minun. Embryo development includes various stages of embryo formation in the womb that were unknown to non-Muslim scientists until the nineteenth century.
This study has examined the early Muslims’ comprehension of the Holy Qur'an as the first target audience of it, particularly of the verses of fetal development in Chapter al-Mu’minun (the scope of research), proportional to the prophetic life cycle of the Prophet (pbuh), in a library style and rational analysis of content. The present text points out that the understanding and comprehension is incomplete without reference to the knowledge of the Holy Prophet. For it is clear that the understanding level of the early Muslims in the Revelatory Era was in the linguistic terms, but the understanding of other scholars in the later centuries was based on experimental findings, in addition to Arabic. Yet both were needed for a better understanding, especially in the phrase "then We created another creation" a precise comprehension that it is not possible by relying solely on Arabic. Given that some of the results obtained are that the epistemic dimension of these verses (meaning the ones related to the faith) is more prominent than the scientific one for the first audience of the Holy Quran
