Abstract

Given that hope and optimism are fundamental necessities for societal progress and development, conducting a psychological study on hope-inducing factors in society, with a focus on the Holy Quran, was essential. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the psychological factors that contribute to fostering hope in society from the Quranic perspective. This research employs a qualitative content analysis approach, a research method used for the subjective interpretation of textual data through theme identification. Islamic and psychological sources were examined, and the extracted data were logically categorized. The findings reveal that, from a psychological perspective and based on Quranic teachings, three main factors—cognitive, emotional, and behavioral—play a crucial role in fostering hope in society. Cognitive factors include belief in God, faith in the afterlife, positive thinking, and a sense of purpose in life. Emotional factors emphasize the ability to regulate negative emotions and maintain hopeful anticipation of divine relief. Behavioral factors involve following the example of hopeful individuals, social support, reducing socio-economic adversities, effective governance and political stability, and promoting Amr bil Ma'ruf and Nahy anil Munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil). The results indicate that Quranic teachings provide a well-structured psychological framework for fostering hope in society, addressing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions.
