Abstract

This research investigates the educational teachings embedded in the verse of Istirja', specifically verse 156 of Surah Al-Baqarah. The educational implications derived from this verse are organized into six essential dimensions: possibilities, principles, methodologies, objectives, dimensions, and factors influencing education. The objective of this paper is to extract and analyze these dimensions through a descriptive-analytical lens, emphasizing educational interpretation. The results reveal that the verse of Istirja' underscores the potential for human education, which is essential for recognizing monotheism and the concept of resurrection. The verse utilizes various methods, including the provision of insight, reminders, encouragement, self-suggestion, modeling, and nurturing a love for servitude within the educational framework. It encompasses multiple dimensions of education across cognitive, emotional, and psychological aspects, particularly emphasizing rational, belief-based, ethical, and social education. The educational objectives identified from this verse include cultivating patience in adversity, recognizing human servitude, and understanding that material possessions are divine trusts. Additionally, the verse articulates several educational principles, such as a focus on God, adherence to divine guidance, rational thought, and the exchange of the finite for the infinite. Influential factors in education inferred from the verse include the will of the Almighty, trials and tribulations, and the presence of educational role models. The findings of this study are significant for interpretative research, particularly regarding methodological approaches to interpretation and their implications for educational sciences.
