Objective: This study aims to extract a Qur’anic model of planning based on the events of the Battle of Uhud and its managerial analysis. The significance of this research lies in the fact that the Qur’an, through its recounting of this historical event, offers a comprehensive framework for crisis management, strategic decision-making, and balancing material interests with spiritual elevation.
Method: The research adopts a mixed-method approach consisting of three components: (1) an exploratory approach to identify managerial concepts in Qur’anic verses related to Uhud; (2) a meta-synthesis approach to integrate previous findings in crisis management and Qur’anic strategies; and (3) an interrogative approach to interpret sacred texts from different perspectives. Data were collected from Qur’anic, exegetical, and managerial sources and analyzed through thematic mapping and content analysis.
Results: Findings indicate that the Qur’anic planning model in the Battle of Uhud is reflected in four key dimensions:
1. Defining monotheistic-oriented goals that balance worldly achievements with spiritual and eternal objectives;
2. Emphasizing accurate and reliable information gathering to identify strengths and weaknesses of the enemy; 3. Shūrā-based decision-making combined with leadership decisiveness to enhance coordination and cohesion; 4. Continuous supervision and follow-up in executing decisions and correcting performance.
These findings demonstrate that the integration of rationality and faith in crisis management dissolves the apparent dichotomy between reason and spirituality, providing a holistic model applicable to contemporary organizational management.
Conclusion: The study concludes that the Qur’an, through its analysis of the Battle of Uhud, offers a systematic and effective framework for crisis planning and management. This model rests on three main pillars: a monotheistic worldview, managerial flexibility (consultation combined with decisiveness), and the integration of intellect and faith. Applying this Qur’anic model in fields such as human resources, technology, and urban planning can improve organizational efficiency, strengthen social cohesion, and promote sustainable development. Thus, combining Qur’anic principles with modern managerial practices provides an innovative strategy for addressing both internal and international crises.
